Email Deliverability Tips:

Here’s some more tips that will help you get your e-mails actually delivered to the inbox.

***Exception to what I'm saying : All the simple and common tech/setup/improper configuration errors that can wreck deliverability.

1. Is your list actually warm?, recent, inbound, interested list of people who opted into your brand communications. Figure out THIS before you even worry about email nurture. You can ONLY properly nurture a list you properly built.

2. Warm up your list with conversational emails. The more your contacts reply, the more likely you are to end up in the inbox. Build this into your welcome series and send emails that ask for replies.

Send an email 6 hours after your first welcome email asking your contact to confirm that they received what you sent them (the lead magnet you used to get them to sign up). Provide another link to the item, just in case.

3. Are you replying to your inbound emails? Again, this helps create a conversational flow.

4. Tech setup is important, but it is the easiest part.

5. Basic human empathy. I think most people with crappy email rates think of clients as numbers and only care about the numerical results of their campaigns and completely miss the human element which ironically is ALL the algorithm is attempting to care about. Do you send stuff to people who actually want your stuff??? Is it actually good stuff?? If you don't have a resounding HELL YES to both questions then figure that out first.
